Manuscript Format

IMPORTANT NOTICE! Authors are expected to read and follow the instructions in this Manuscript Format section before submission. Submissions that do not comply with these requirements (including manuscript structure, required declarations, and reference style) may be desk rejected during the initial editorial screening.

1) Language and File Format

  • Language: English (American English).
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Length: up to ~10,000 words (excluding references).
The journal may request a shorter or more concise revision where appropriate.

2) Tables and Figures (Submission Requirements)

To support efficient review and production, tables and figures must be submitted as separate files.

Tables

  • Upload tables as a separate file (MS Word format: .doc/.docx).
  • Each table must have a clear table number and caption (e.g., Table 1. …).
  • The same table number and caption must also appear in the main manuscript at the appropriate location (e.g., “[Insert Table 1 here]”), and the table must be cited in the text.
  • One table per page is required in the tables file.

Figures

  • Upload each figure as a separate file in .JPG or .PNG format.
  • Each figure must have a figure number and caption consistent with the main manuscript (e.g., Figure 1. …).
  • In the main manuscript, indicate placement using “[Insert Figure 1 here]” and cite the figure in the text.

Submissions with missing table/figure files, inconsistent numbering/captions, or tables/figures not properly cited in the manuscript may be returned for correction or desk rejected during editorial screening.

3) Article Types

ARiM considers the following manuscript types:

  1. Empirical Research Articles (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method).
  2. Systematic Literature Reviews (SLRs) (and, where appropriate, meta-analyses) that demonstrate a clear contribution and use transparent, reproducible review procedures.

4) Template and Formatting After Acceptance

ARiM does not provide a manuscript template for initial submission. Authors should prepare the submission using the structure described in the Manuscript Structure section below.

If a manuscript is accepted, the publisher will conduct copyediting and formatting to align the article with the journal’s publication style. Authors will receive a proof version for minor corrections only (e.g., typographical errors, minor factual clarifications) and must return the corrected proof within the timeframe specified by the editorial office. After the final proof is returned and approved, no further changes are permitted.

Any changes requested after publication will be handled in accordance with the journal’s Withdrawal, Corrections, and Retractions Policy.

5) Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized clearly and logically. The following structure is recommended for most submissions:

  1. Title
  2. Author(s) Details

Immediately below the title, provide complete author information, including:

    • Full name of each author (in publication order)
    • Affiliation(s) for each author (an author may list more than one affiliation)
    • ORCID iD for each author
    • Clearly identify the corresponding author and provide a valid email address

    Example format:
    Author A^1,* (ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000)
    Author B^2 (ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000)

^1 Department of …, University of …, City, Country
^2 Department of …, University of …, City, Country

    *Corresponding author: authorA@email.com

  3. Abstract
    • A concise summary of the purpose, methods, key findings, and implications.
  4. Keywords
    • Provide 3–5 relevant keywords.
  5. Introduction
    • Background, research problem, objectives, and contribution.
  6. Relevant Literature
    • This section may include (as appropriate): theoretical review, conceptual review, and/or hypotheses development.
  7. Methods
    • For empirical studies: research design, context/sample/data sources, measures/materials, procedures, and analysis strategy.
    • For systematic literature review (SLR): review design, search strategy and data sources, eligibility criteria and study selection, data extraction, quality appraisal, and data analysis strategy (synthesis approach). SLR submissions that do not provide transparent and reproducible review procedures may be desk rejected at the editorial screening stage.
  8. Results
    • Present findings clearly and consistently with the stated methods.
  9. Discussion
    • Authors are expected to include the following level-2 subheadings:
      • Theoretical Contributions
      • Managerial Implications
      • Limitations and Future Research Directions
  10. Conclusion
    • Brief summary of key takeaways and why they matter.
  11. Author Declarations (see required statements below)
  12. References (APA 7th edition; see below)
  13. Appendices (if any)
    • Appendices should be used only when necessary (e.g., instruments, supplementary analyses, additional tables).
    • Appendix tables must follow the journal’s table formatting rule (one table per page) and be submitted in the separate appendices file.

6) Declarations (Required Statements)

All manuscripts must include an Author Declarations section containing the following statements (use “None” or “Not applicable” where appropriate):

  1. Ethical Approval (or Exemption/Waiver)
  2. Informed Consent
  3. Competing Interests
  4. Funding
  5. Data Availability
  6. Author Contributions (CRediT) (required for multi-author manuscripts)
  7. AI Use Disclosure
  8. Acknowledgments (optional)
  9. Preprint / Prior Dissemination (if any)

7) References Format

ARiM uses APA 7th edition reference style. Authors are encouraged to consult the publicly available APA Style reference examples for common source types; examples on this page are adapted from APA Style materials.

To reduce citation errors and missing metadata, authors are strongly encouraged to use a reference manager (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote) and then manually verify that the final output matches APA 7 (e.g., capitalization, italics, DOI/URL formatting, and completeness of fields).

Common reference formats (APA 7):
